Specialist Nurse - Oncology

Up to £40,000 + Benefits

**Our client's hospital is one of Britain's leading providers of independent healthcare, with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics which perform more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

This reputable hospital has 48 beds and 2 operating theatres.

The major specialities undertaken are orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery, urology, ENT, general medicine, ophthalmology, chemotherapy, laparoscopic surgery and cosmetic surgery.

The hospital provides surgery, medical care including oncology, outpatients and diagnostic imaging.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.


Requirements:


  • Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / BSc in Nursing. Or


  • Registered Nurse Level

  • Relevant Competencies for the role.
  • Surgical oncology experience i.e. postoperative care
  • Willingness to develop or already hold:
  • Breast care course / module
  • Lymphodema management course
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Teaching experience
  • Audit experience
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills required.
  • Understanding on workload and shift management.
  • Patient and caring approach to customer care
  • Experience in chemotherapy administration

Duties:


  • Required to work closely with both Medical and Surgical Oncologists
  • Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care, with reference to Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for records and record keeping.
  • Conduct yourself professionally within the standard and framework provided by the NMC Codes of professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
