Job description:


Our Finance Business Partners understand the business and communicate financial data and other information clearly, provide valuable financial advice, support, strategic insight, challenge and business solutions.


You will need to build strong relationships to enable effective strategic financial management and use those relationships to influence decision making and facilitate constructive challenge.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing an understanding of the business, its stakeholders and deliverables and building relationships.
  • Translating, owning and adding insight to financial data to provide clear information and evidence to support business activities and requirements.
  • Reviewing and providing input to business cases/ strategic documentation.
  • Providing adhoc analysis and presentations to drive and support business decisions, such as efficiency and cost reduction options, using all available data and analytics tools.

Person specification:

To thrive in this role, you will need to be able to evidence the following skills and experience:

  • Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration between the business, finance and other corporate services.
  • Can tailor their communication style to a range of audiences, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uses facts and evidence to aid negotiation and influencing.
  • Helps others to understand the interdependencies between business and finance.
  • Proactive and passionate, inspiring others to continuously improve.
  • Ability to "speak the language" of finance to business, and vice versa, acting as the critical translator between the two.

Additional Information


This role can be based in Swansea, Nottingham, Bristol, or Newcastle where your presence at this location will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you.

There will be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations, including overnight stays.

We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.

Qualifications:


  • Uptodate membership of one of the UK accounting bodies (CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or ICAEW) and either fully qualified, or part qualified with a commitment to complete the qualification
