Are you looking for a challenging, interesting, and critical role that has a direct impact on the quality of people's lives?


We are seeking to appoint a Commissioning Officer to work within the Adults Strategic Commissioning Team under the theme of: Commissioning of learning disability, autism and transition services.


  • Have you the confidence to produce highquality work independently, using your initiative while keeping the senior team updated?
  • Knowledge and experience of working with people with a learning disability and autistic people?
  • Knowledge and experience of working with providers of services for people with a learning disability and autistic people?
  • Are you a Completer/finisher?
  • Use systems such as LAS and CONTROCC and / or be willing to train.
  • You will support in developing the commissioned service offer and work collaboratively with place partners to ensure, where appropriate, there is an integrated offer.
  • You will lead assigned projects and activities supporting the commissioning of services and individual placements. You will promote quality assurance, customer involvement and undertake robust performance management of contracted and commissioned services, ensuring service outcomes are being delivered according to the service specification.
  • You will develop and maintain daytoday contact with service providers to address delivery issues, coproduce solutions and undertake data analysis to ensure the commissioning of appropriate services and strategic commissioning decisions.


Reporting to a Strategic Commissioning Manager, you will contribute to wider strategic reviews through the quality monitoring of services, identifying strategic relevance and evidencing value for money to deliver excellent outcomes for adults across Rotherham.


The work may necessitate undertaking duties outside normal office hours, within the principle of the 37-hour week and the flexi-time system.
