Who You Are

  • You are an individual with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in child care and education, NND, Health and Social Care. You have handson experience in working directly with children, young people and their families. You efficiently provide outreach and homebased support to children and families identified with specific needs. Collaborative and multiagency working, along with effective communication skills are amongst your strengths. You have the ability to maintain precise, reflective records in line with the Recording with Care guidelines. Teamwork comes naturally to you and you can easily slot into various services to support parents in their child's care. You are flexible, adaptable and can support the overall operation of the Service. Additionally, you own a car, have a valid UK license and are comfortable using a laptop.
What the Job Involves

  • As a Family Support Worker, your primary responsibility is supporting the School Family Support Service in Liverpool. You will be working with families referred for aid by specific schools, tackling up to 10 cases at a time. Your duties include performing an Early Help Assessment and developing a team around the family plan that directly addresses the support needs identified. You are also expected to collaborate effectively and work in partnership with parents and professionals. Having a sound understanding of child development and awareness of child protection issues will be an advantage. Another one of your roles is providing practical parenting strategies. Apart from these, you should also be ready to work alone or in teams across a range of services.
