Description

This is an opportunity to join an integrated and well established team of Mental Health Workers within Child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) covering throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

The post holder will have responsibility for assessment and providing interventions/treatment to children and young people within a CAMHS community setting.

The post holder will provide a service for children and young people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health problems.

You will be expected to carry out mental health assessments and provide treatment in collaboration with patients, families/carers and other service providers.

A holistic, person centred, systemic approach is necessary, which involves offering interventions which take account of the young person and significant others, such as family members, other service providers and education.

In addition to your skills and knowledge, you should have a real passion to make a difference to young people's mental health, and motivation to contribute to and support the ongoing development of the team, service, and organisation.

Dumfries and Galloway is a stunning part of Scotland to live and work in.

It can be as remote or as busy as you want it to be and there are road and rail routes to the bigger cities on both sides of the border.

Consideration would be given to part time working hours.

Under Equality Legislation we can only state that a driving licence is required if a post is a 'driving job - eg Driver.

Following discussions, we can now routinely use the following text in adverts where a post holder would be expected to drive.

  • This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas therefore a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged._
