Site Supervisor at St John Southworth RC Primary School

The Governors of St John Southworth RC Primary School wish to appoint a hard-working and enthusiastic Site Supervisor / Caretaker.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, hardworking Site Supervisor, to fulfil this key role within our wonderful school.
Our school is a happy and friendly school that is well thought of in the community.

We are a good school with positive values, a friendly and dedicated team and excellent relationships with pupils and parents are important to us.

Reporting to the Headteacher, you will be responsible for the ensuring that all statutory premises-related requirements are met and that our school is safe, welcoming, well-maintained, clean and an immaculately presented place to learn and work.

You must have good practical maintenance skills in order to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance. They will undertake cleaning duties and supervise the work of the school cleaner.
Normal core hours worked as below (37.

5 hours weekly):
Monday to Friday: 7.00am am and 2.00pm - 5:30pm

During the school holidays these working times may be changed by mutual agreement to allow for deep cleaning, contractor works and ongoing maintenance or building projects.

This position is term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

From 1st July 2023 our school will be part of Romero Catholic Academy Trust.

Essential Qualifications

  • Commitment to gaining NVQ in Caretaking
Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Caretaking (or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Caretaking (or equivalent)
Desirable Experience

  • Experience of undertaking a caretaker or site supervisory function
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of planning and programming work
  • Experience of budget management
