How You'll Perform the Role
Waddington Europe has a vacancy for an Sales Director to work for Waddington Europe.

Responsible for establishing and implementing the sales plan.

Working closely with the Managing Director and Commercial Director in order to determine and implement the sales strategy of the business.

This role is available Monday - Friday, working 7.5 hours per day, full time.


What We Need From You

  • Ensure that the sales plan is implemented in full and in line with the business's strategy and mission
  • Report regularly on all sales activity, including competition
  • Ensure that accounts handled directly are well managed, ensuring that customer expectations are maintained and are met in full
  • Ensure that there is maximum organic growth of profitable business
  • Critically analyse the existing business, develop effective ongoing relationships with all relevant executives, gain an understanding of the nature of their business, and personality
  • Gain a full understanding of business throughout by line, negotiate terms and conditions of business, gain approval for underwriting finished goods and raw materials, and establish the basis on which business will be conducted to the benefit of Waddington Europe
  • Manage and direct the Field Sales Team and work closely with Customers services
  • Manage the website, and all PR activity including Exhibitions
  • Actively manage and pursue appropriate NPD activities
  • Manage the pricing of all existing and new products, including special projects and margin analysis
  • Manage slow moving stocks and recommend the expectations
  • Manage all pricing, and the sales and margin expectations of existing and new business according to agreed targets
  • Identify profitable new business suited to Waddington Europe resources, using internal an externals sources including published literature
  • Develop appropriate levels of relationships which will lead to a positive business conclusion
  • Negotiate effectively to close new business with maximum return
  • Support in the design and development of new products in conjunction with chosen Design Company, and WE's internal technical team
  • Work closely with commercial to ensure good resolution
  • Use all available resources to gather industrial information on market conditions, competition and new customers as a basis for making strategic decisions and planning
  • Pay attention to the detailed administration of the business, ensuring there are no commercial discrepancies implementing price increases as and when required
  • Manage any Quality, financial or legal issues that arise between Waddington Europe and the customer
  • Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained
  • Abide by the company's environmental and quality management procedures
  • Carry out any reasonable duties we request that are within your abilities irrespective of grade/skill level
