Be a key implementer of the business Infection Prevention and Control programme Develop IPC links at Hospital level and support Hospital Managers in implementing audits, reviewing compliance and action planning as a result of any non-compliance Reporting and updating the Clinical Governance Committee Advise the senior management team on any new developments in the Infection Prevention arena & Infection Prevention Society UK Ensure risks of infection are identified throughout all hospital departments and disciplines and risk assessments are in place reflecting controls that are reviewed at least annually and as otherwise indicated.
Ensure local infection control policies reflect corporate policies, writing local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as appropriate, and liaise with departmental heads to ensure these are implemented.
Ensure all staff have appropriate IPC training using a combination of online and face to face Implement and maintain a continuous hand hygiene improvement programme.
