Description

The FX Technology Team partner closely with the business to deliver the connectivity, data, infrastructure and software solutions to service our clients and support a market-leading FX franchise.


The Head of FX QA Strategy & Automation is responsible for delivering a best-in-class quality assurance capability supporting the global FX business.


Responsibilities
As a key leader in the FX Technology team you will:

  • Provide thought leadership across FX Technology and drive change through personal hands-on coding & delivery
  • Develop technical standards for tools and frameworks used by automation QAs
  • Develop a common review framework and set of shared quality standards for automation testing code across FX
  • Ensure that testing practices are compatible and where possible consistent between different groups in FX, and meet any regulatory or audit requirements
  • Build a community of practice for automation QA teams
  • Support career paths for QA professionals, particularly at the start of their careers
  • Develop common standards for documentation of tests and test results
  • Develop a common review framework and set of shared quality standards for automation testing code across FX
  • Review and drive improvements to code quality and design of testing code
  • Act as a role model by committing high quality automation testing code; spend at least 50% of your time coding
  • Work with development teams to agree common standards for testing tools across dev and QA
  • Develop a culture of excellence by promoting, organising and running internal events, conferences and training
  • Develop a career pathway from manual to automation testers by developing and commissioning training, providing opportunity and support for individuals to learn
  • Conduct ongoing research into new tools techniques and practices

Qualifications

  • 15+ years relevant industry experience in QA roles with extensive experience building and leading teams of QA professionals
  • Degree in a relevant discipline with a Masters degree being advantageous
  • Significant experience in a financial services environment with specific FX experience being advantageous
  • Experience in conducting and leading testing activities in a regulated environment
  • Handson QA leadership with the ability to contribute individually as well as provide direction and guidance across multiple teams
  • Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a distributed matrix environment
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
