Description

The Clinical Systems team is called on to provide timely development and deployment of customised systems in response to emerging needs, whether these are driven by developments in clinical practice or changes to local and national reporting requirements.

You will support the day-to-day system management and administration of critical clinical systems across the Trust.

This will involve the working with departments to ensure that solutions are designed and built to support service delivery and fit into the wider digital strategy, through to implementation and on-going support and maintenance.

You will participate in discussions, explaining complex and sensitive information from Clinical Systems, which can relate to clinical performance, to senior clinical and non-clinical staff in situations where the information may be contentious and open to different interpretations.

The post-holder will need to be adaptable and capable of using their judgement to prioritise and make decisions.

They must be prepared to listen to and understand System and Quality Management issues raised by users, and successfully resolve any problems identified.

The post-holder will be expected to convey a positive, professional image, representing the Digital Team.

They must demonstrate a proactive approach to meet requests for support, and exercise appropriate initiative in a high profile and busy environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to liaise effectively and confidently with people at all levels.

Working with clinical teams to understand requirements for their systems, and work with suppliers and digital teams to deliver a fit for purpose solution

Contribute to the development strategy and associated programme of implementation for systems used across the clinical departments

Assist in maintaining the overall clinical systems architecture

Contributing to development and maintenance of wider digital strategies

Assist with delivery of the technical elements to integrate systems into the Trust EPR

Production and maintenance of support documentation

Contribute to effective team-working by transferring skills and knowledge across the digital team and ensure that working procedures are properly documented and maintained

Install end-user systems client software as required and configure specialist hardware as required to run the service

Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of systems through validation and testing phases, and transition into live

Development of test plans for end-to-end solution testing

Working with the IT & Cyber Teams to ensure that all components used within the department are secure, and following trust standards

Log, manage and resolve helpdesk calls in a timely manner, ensuring end users are kept informed of progress and service is delivered to quality standards

To be the point of escalation for resolution of issues where support teams are unable to resolve

Working with technical teams and external suppliers in the resolution of tickets and issues on behalf of users, owning issues through to resolution

To ensure systems are monitored, and alerts acted upon accordingly

To assist with changes to existing system technical configuration as a result of changed requirements or system changes

Contribute to development and design of data capture within systems to enable reporting. These reports form the basis for audits undertaken for data quality and reconciliation purposes

This role also incorporates the need to communicate complex digital issues to non-digital senior staff and articulate timescales, plans, barriers and dependencies to clinical teams and senior operational managers  Work within defined deadlines as part of a team and on an individual basis

Proposing system developments to improve workflows, operational processes and release efficiencies through system design and optimisation

Keep up to date with relevant technologies, new techniques and developments that might occur and provide training to others if required General Duties People & Human Resources
