WBP - THE AREA


Our Workplace Benefit's Platform (WBP) Team manage all aspects of platform management and administration for employee / flexible benefits, including Pension, Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance etc.

for our portfolio of clients.

This includes a number of activities to ensure seamless delivery of this service including design and build of a client website, ongoing monthly management of delivery in line with agreed contractual service level agreements, and servicing of helplines for clients who have taken this service.

Our clients range from global organisations to small / medium enterprises. Our goal is to deliver a best-in class client service proposition that sets Phoenix ahead of the market place. We impress our clients through achieving and exceeding our SLAs, and expectations. We work in partnership with our clients to identify opportunities to enhance their flexible benefits offering and associated processes.


THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an 12 month opportunity within the Workplace Benefits Platform area for an Employee Benefits Officer.


We are looking for customer-driven person to join our workplace and advisor teams and provide technical expertise, build relationships and do the right thing for our customers and the business.

The Role - Employee Benefits Officer/Payroll Analyst


If you're highly organised, enjoy managing your own workload, have excellent relationship building and analytical skills and technical expertise; this role will give you the opportunity to grow and enhance these skills whilst developing your career in Employee Benefits.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - ESSENTIAL

  • High level of numeracy with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • You'll be familiar with Excel formulas such as VLOOKUPs, in order to reconcile and analyse data
  • Proven success in taking ownership, using root cause analysis techniques to investigate and report / share findings
  • Strong relationship building and communication (verbal and written) skills and enjoy working with a diverse audience
  • Team player who identifies opportunities to improve processes and support other members of your team
  • Technical mindset with proven success in picking up new systems / processes quickly and learns from previous experiences
  • Proactive with the ability to work alone without daily guidance on what to do (will not be micro managed)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, clients, tasks, prioritise, schedule own work (able to manage concurrent multiple active projects and provide support to other team members at the same time.)
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to accurately analyse large quantities of data and present findings in a clear and concise manner across different mediums
  • Takes personal responsibility for problem solving and continuous improvement with the ability to 'think outside the box'
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Proactive approach and passionate about a career in Employee Benefits
- **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • DESIRABLE
  • A degree level qualification but not essential (numerically competent)
  • Flexible benefits experience and general knowledge of UK compensations and benefits.


  • Knowledge of HTML

  • Correctly formatted tags and tables in line with current web standards
  • Awareness of Google Analytics
  • Experience of benefits, pensions and / or payroll
  • Experience of multistakeholder projects
  • Knowledge of UK tax rules in the area of compensation and benefits
  • Previous experience making improvements to processes, systems and services to ensure they are fit for purpose and support error prevention
  • Standard Life pensions knowledge and administration systems
