Managerial responsibilities:

to include level of responsibility for: There may be direct line management responsibility within this role, depending upon portfolio assignment.

The post-holder will be expected to achieve successful delivery of programmes of work and specific projects by influencing and negotiating with staff / colleagues within the Clinical Group and across the organisation.

Bring business skills and commercial acumen into the Clinical Group; help others to understand NHS business rules and processes designed to ensure probity and best use of tax payers money.

Develop opportunities for improvement that maximise the involvement of all staff in the development of services across the Trust.


Work closely with local teams as required delivering the transformation programmes and QIPP, influencing staff outside of the Delivery Unit team.

To lead on major programmes of work, business case development and other specific projects that supports the organisation in achieving improved performance through implementing a range of improvement methodologies in line with the Trusts service/business objectives in order to promote sustainable change.

To provide expert leadership and support for change management and service redesign, enabling the development of improvement initiatives that will lead to improved productivity, efficiency and effectiveness to deliver high quality care to patients as well as delivering against the Trust strategic objectives.

To lead and manage improvement initiatives from their inception to successful implementation.


This will include the formulation of project plans and reporting structures, agreeing improvement methodologies and the monitoring of progress against agreed milestones and outcomes.

Completion of documentation in a timely manner will underpin successful delivery. To identify issues that result in lack of compliance with improvement, trajectories and measures and undertake appropriate remedial action.

To ensure service improvement changes are integrated into work practices and improvements are maintained after the lifetime of the project, thus becoming business as usual.


Providing insights as required on the progress of each scheme, working with senior stakeholders to identify risks and develop actions to ensure timely delivery.
