A skilled Events Executive is needed to join the team at this leading and professional association for financial managers in the NHS based in Bristol.


You will join their professional development team to play an integral part in the development and delivery of the Skills Development programme to meet the needs of healthcare finance and non-finance staff.


You will be responsible for supporting the team in the management and delivery of a range of physical, virtual and hybrid events throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To work closely with the skills development boards and leads to identify the training development needs of finance, procurement and digital health staff
  • To work with the learning & development manager to design and develop a comprehensive programme of development activities and initiatives to meet the identified needs of staff within the regions
  • Manage the skills development budgets and maintain a clear audit trail
  • Organise and engage with learning & development coordinators, oversee the delivery of events and ensure that all essential processes are completed by the relevant coordinator
  • Act as an event coordinator on a number of skills development events as and when required by the learning & development manager. This includes but is not limited to creating budgets and POs, cost and actuals tracking, numbers spreadsheet, credit reports,feedback forms and tracking, administering the event on the day (whether online or face to face)
  • Track feedback across all events and aim to achieve 90% excellent/good feedback for the achievement of aims
  • Develop a network of potential speakers and presenters, identify their suitability for specific initiatives/programmes and liaise with them as necessary
  • Evaluate speakers suitability on an ongoing basis

Required Skills:


  • Is passionate about what you do and takes pride in delivering the very best work
  • Remains calm under pressure, can manage a number of tasks simultaneously and maintains excellent attention to detail while working to tight deadlines
  • Is an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a range of people
  • Has great writing and administrative skills, with competency in using Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Has an appetite and willingness to learn, not afraid to ask questions
  • Has experience of designing training and development programmes
  • Has a good understanding of and strong interest in the NHS
  • Has experience of working effectively with mínimal supervision
  • Uses their initiative and can think on their feet
