We have an exciting opportunity for a Transformation Programme Finance Lead to join our team and play a key role in effective delivery across the programme on a fixed term contract for 2 years.

The role will be working on a hybrid basis so you could be based anywhere but would be expected to travel to the Head Office in Carlisle at least twice per month.


In this role you'll be responsible for managing agreed Transformation budgets as per the Business Case as well as defining and embedding budgetary control processes in line with our overall change budget processes.


You'll work closely with the Finance Business Partner, Transformation Leadership and Change Management Office Finance Lead, to ensure Programme Directors and Senior Leadership can make informed decisions in relation to programme budget spend.

The Role

Main responsibilities include:
Transformation Budget & Business Case Costs

  • Own the Transformation Business Case cost model.
  • Acting as an aggregation point in managing resource and 3rd party project costs and reconciling this to the Transformation cost centre budget
  • Forecasting the impact of stage gate outcomes and change control requests to assess the impact on transformation budgets.
  • Support the transformation roadmap review process and project 'shaping' processes, to gain a greater understanding of pipeline budgets and forecast any potential over or under spends.
  • Support the development of KPIs and metrics for transformation finance reporting to the CITO leadership.
Purchasing & Invoicing Process

  • Ensure the purchasing processes across Transformation are conducted to agreed standards, work with budget owners & CMO Finance Lead on purchase requisitions, raising purchase orders or arranging P-Card payments inline with agreed policy.
  • Ensure the purchase order list up to date and accurate, manage and submit accruals and invoice payments.
Governance

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls working in collaboration with the CMO finance lead.
  • Develop and maintain the process and controls for business case drawdown.
  • Work with the CMO Finance Lead, to ensure processes and templates for budgetary control and project spend are fit for purpose and clearly documented in the Change Framework
  • Work with Transformation programme leadership & CMO Finance Lead to ensure that their project costs are accurate and project forecasts are appropriate and up to date, provide ongoing 2nd line support to CMO Finance lead on financial best practice.
Reporting

  • Own, manage and develop the programme cost review process.
  • Maintain and develop the Transformation programme cost tracker template and process.
  • Alongside CMO Finance lead, review weekly timesheet consolidations, check for data integrity and where necessary oversee that corrective action is taken by the business.
  • Produce utilisation data both in terms of historical actuals and forecasts for programme reporting purposes.
Financial Processes

  • Lead key financial activities including the process to update the transformation business case costs, the annual transformation cost budget and maintaining latest view forward forecasts.
  • Support the budget and any reforecast process with timely and accurate data.
  • Support Finance with the successful embedment of financial processes, providing support and coaching to the Project Management practice to ensure standards are understood and adhered to
