Kincairn is a new service provider with a management team with over 30 years of experience in providing a high quality or care within a residential setting.

It is our goal to ensure we provide a safe caring environment for each of our residents to meet their needs, while also providing a healthy professional learning setting for our team.

Our home is a 3 bedded residential care service for children and young people aged 06-18 years.

We are situated on the outskirts of Cupar in a detached cottage with a homely milieu to allow a safe nurturing and therapeutic environment for our young people to learn, grow and develop.


Pay
£27, £32,861.40 a year £40 per sleep in allowance

Shift work including weekends and sleep in's

Senior Residential child care worker

Reporting to the Manager and Operations Manager

Setting and maintaining standards of care for the children and young people and in conjunction with the Manager and Operations Manager:
Manage and lead a team of staff. Provide regular and support and supervision to staff.
Identify staff development needs and provide an input to in-service training.

Contribute to and maintain a quality system that ensures a high standard of care and support to children and young people.

Contribute to the care planning and review of children and young people. Monitor, evaluate and maintain systems in place to meet children and young people's needs. Ensure policy and procedures and guidelines are implemented and inform working practice. Ensure team budgets are adhered to. Promote effective working relationships between staff through positive and constructive communication. While on shift lead and direct the tasks undertaken by Care Workers. Promote the physical tasks (for example cleaning, cooking and participating in various activities, promoting a homely environment)

Ensure other professional duties are carried out (record keeping, report writing, attendance at various meetings)

You will be required to understand the principles of safeguarding and child protection.

Demonstrate the values and standards set out in accordance with the codes of practice (SSSC)

Develop positive working relationships with the young people and demonstrate good role model practices.

Liaise with Parents, families, carers, social workers and other professionals on behalf of the young people.


Requirements:

SSSC Registration

Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Disclosure Scotland

Work location; In person

HNC Social Care or SVQ 3 children and Families

SVQ 4 in leader and management or prepared to undertake


Essential
Previous experience of working with children / young people or other vulnerable groups.

A knowledge and awareness of therapeutic interventions.


Desirable
Experience of working with young people in a residential care setting

Experience of working in residential settings with other client groups

Full Manual driving licence due to the location.
