Progress Tutor - A Level, 36 hrs per week, Term Time Only (38 weeks per year)

Salary:
LSO Scale points 2-7 £20,483 - £25,992 (£18,025 - £22,873 Pro-Rata)


Are you a Progress Tutor who is skilled and a highly motivated individual who is looking to join our established team with a specific focus on supporting A-Level students.

You will support the academic progress of A Level students and specifically raise aspirations inspiring students to reach their full potential in accessing opportunities for Higher Education.


You will deliver weekly tutorials to the support career journey and deliver a range of pastoral topics in line with our commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and personal development.

You will support learners in attaining high levels of attendance and punctuality and work with learners on a 1-1 basis to develop and encourage successful outcomes.

You will also monitor learner engagement and where appropriate work with learners and parents to ensure that College standards are maintained.


What you'll need:

Enthusiasm, resilience and motivation, with a relevant degree or equivalent coupled with a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy knowledge.

A broad range of curriculum knowledge/qualification structure e.g. BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeships. Specific knowledge of A Level and HE structures.

Experience of the UCAS process and progression opportunities including a sound understanding of the range of the issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional, behavioural).

Your also need to be experienced in target setting and monitoring with learners. Please see the person spec and JD for further information.
