We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Advanced Practitioner to help deliver and lead good quality care and represent adult social care.
You will be responsible for promoting Blackburn with Darwen's vision, objectives and priorities effectively to our staff, partners and the public.
You will demonstrate effective leadership and management to support staff and work alongside Team Managers to ensure that the service meets all statutory requirements and practice standards.
The role will be based within the Safeguarding Adults Team and will support the team and team manager to lead on the quality and practice of all Safeguarding activity and support the throughput of work within the Safeguarding Adults process.
The expectation of an Advanced Practitioner will be to hold a small caseload; undertake supervisions; deputise in the absence of the manager; use knowledge and skills to support the team manager and the team with complex cases, court work and to develop skills and practice of other colleagues, including; social work students, ASYEs, less experienced Social Workers, etc, and provide professional social work development in accordance with national and local policies, procedures and legislation.
- To support the Council's vision and corporate objectives.
- To provide professional support and guidance to members of the team to ensure quality and consistency across the team.
- Effectively support social workers with complex cases, undertaking joint work where required.
- To train and support Social workers and social care practitioners in respect of evidence gathering and providing quality assessments.
- To support the team in the managers absence with allocating work and mosaic approvals.
- Formally support, supervise and assess Social Workers across the full range of their training and development, from student placements through to specialised professional development such as Practice Educator and Best Interest Assessor training.
- Work with colleagues across the Partnership and Social Care workforce including multiprofessional, multiagency teams, individuals, and statutory, voluntary and private agencies to achieve and enhance best practice outcomes through a joined up approach.
