BACKGROUND
The Leeds R&D site is home to multiple teams within the Unilever Personal Care Business Group. Personal Care is a €10Bn+ business and a key growth driver for Unilever. The R&D teams at Leeds help to enable growth through developing superior products and innovation for our consumers globally.

This job is based at the Leeds R&D site and is part of the R&D Strategy & Operations team.

The team provide support to enable smooth operation of the site & facilities for all employees situated at Leeds R&D.


JOB PURPOSE


The main responsibility of the job is to coordinate the creation of Purchase Orders & complete associated administrative activities on behalf of the R&D teams based at Leeds.

Additionally the role holder will provide Admin support to a number of operational activities to support the wider team.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchasing

  • Creating Purchase Orders (PO's) on behalf of all teams, ensuring PO's have all the correct information and ensuring they progress through approvals in timely manner.
  • Onboard new suppliers into appropriate systems as required.
  • Tracking progress of PO's and resolving any issues raised with relevant partners (Procurement, Supplier, System Helpdesk), and ensuring the requester is up to date with progress.
  • Receipting of PO's once goods are received and managing receipting with requestors on a regular basis to ensure effective closure of orders.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, maintaining good customer service.
  • Process invoices for associated PO's
  • Purchasing process & system SuperUser, become expert in the relevant processes & systems and operationally savvy in resolving problems
  • Provide appropriate training on process & systems to team members, and keep up to date with all system &process updates and roll these out to relevant team members.

Operational Admin Support

  • Manage stock for office supplies & equipment, including ordering new materials/equipment as required.
  • Support Safety Leader with Safety data inputting & tracking as required.
  • Provide admin assistance to Operations team and wider department as needed.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Education level:
GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.


Relevant experience:

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise, multitask, and act with speed & agility.
  • Demonstrate communication with internal & external stakeholders in a professional manner with strong customer service.
  • Experience in purchasing is preferable.

Key Skills:

  • Digitally savvy, with high proficiency in using Microsoft tools (eg Outlook, Teams) & nonmicrosoft tools (eg SAP).
  • High level of data accuracy & attention to detail.
  • Strong & professional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organisational & problem solving skills.
