We are looking for an animal technician to join our friendly, hardworking team and be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of aquatic species within our busy biofacilities in Cambridge.


The role holder shall assist the NACWO in caring for the animals by performing general husbandry tasks and assist researchers with procedural requirements.

The role holder shall be expected to maintain accurate records, complete daily observations and health monitoring, alongside general hygiene and cleaning tasks.

They will also have responsibility, in liaison with researchers, provide technical assistance with both regulated and non-regulated experimental procedures.

This will include working within multiple aquatics facilities, determined by the level of support required for both husbandry and procedures.


You should have good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team, interacting with team colleagues and research staff at all levels.

Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Home Office legislation and concepts of animal technician work are also desirable.
