Programme Manager - Alternative Provision, Fleet Education Services Ltd
Fleet Education Services is an education provider committed to providing high quality teaching and learning for all our learners. Our Alternative Provision service provides education for children & young people who are not currently in education. Our ultimateaim is to support these learners until they are able to return to mainstream or supported education.

In their time with us we work with them to achieve the best academic and engagement outcomes based on their individual abilities.

Many of these learners experience varying degrees of SEND, SEMH & SPLD incl LAC and those with EHCP's. We aim to narrow the achievement gap by creating bespoke, curriculum-based tuition programmes, tailored to support their needs.


We are looking for someone that is passionate about improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners as well as continually improving the quality of teaching and learning to the benefit of each learner.

It is a dynamic role for an exceptional person who hasa minimum of 5 years education experience (SEN would be an advantage).

This role requires someone that is skilled in partnership working and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, from parent/carers to senior staff within local authorities and schools.

This is a hybrid role which will initially be highly peripatetic.

You will be comfortable in visiting parent/carers & learners at home across the country, so you will need to be comfortable with travelling every week.

The rest of the time will be spent workingfrom home and/or at Fleet's Farnborough.

You must be committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection as well as Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

  • Directly support the Head of Alternative Provision and tutors with innovative and unique education programmes, designing 'bespoke' learning programmes based on our client's requirements and their student's needs.
  • Organise new education programmes involving planning and meeting with stakeholders (learners, parent/carers, tutors, Local authorities and schools & other professionals).
  • Lead and support our wide array of tutors in the delivery of education programmes.
  • Manage the quality of our education programmes including reviews of learner progression, engagement and attendance.
  • Encourage the ongoing professional development of tutors & support the delivery of tutor training sessions.
  • Contribute to the wider AP team to ensure smooth delivery and reporting, within operating standards & deadlines.

Skills and Experience required:


  • Leadership background at a senior level. Experience in delivering training and/or professional development courses would be an advantage.
  • Current knowledge of factors impacting on education & the National Curriculum across KS1
  • KS4 and exam preparation
  • Experience in supporting, teaching, and assessing young people with SEND and EHCP's.
  • Proven track record of supporting learners who are underachieving or exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Extensive experience of working with disadvantaged groups and knowledge of complexities & factors affecting young people/parent carers.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Tactful & diplomatic approach to manage partnerships and different stakeholders.
  • Sound IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to frequently changing schedules based on priorities. Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and remotely but also as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt communication style appropriately to encourage learner/parent/carer participation.
  • Experience of undertaking risk assessments would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding & child protection.
  • Qualifications required:
  • Teaching or coaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
  • SEND or substantial relevant experience.

Other details:

37.5 average hours per week: Hours can vary throughout the year.

When not at client meetings, "desk time" can be spent working from home or one of the Fleet offices in West London and/or Farnborough.

Must be prepared to travel nationally and have occasionalovernight stay if necessary.


Remuneration:

£40,000-£45,000 per annum depending on experience. Expenses to be reimbursed in line with the company's expense policy.
