This 18-month apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to start or change to a career in IT support and to gain a recognised apprenticeship qualification (Level 3 Information Communications Technician).

We are looking for someone with a passion for IT support and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to join an established, dynamic and friendly team to provide responsive IT support for the University.


This is a varied and exciting role where you will be an integral member of the IT Asset Support team and will provide both proactive and responsive hardware and software support to staff and students.

You will learn to prepare, stage and dispatch IT equipment. You will develop your skills to provide advice and support to customers' requests both remote and face-to-face.

You will keep equipment safe and virus free; configure network services software and support issues on PC and Macintosh computers including the security of devices.

You will provide IT support for specialist events throughout the year and support workspace relocations.

You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualifications/experience) and have a commitment to complete the apprenticeship program. You will have a good understanding of customer service, with effective communication and time management skills. You will have an interest in computer operating systems, hardware and software to both analyse and solve problems. You will be able to work with accuracy and with sensitive data.
