Residential Support Worker - Children & Young People
Salary Range:
£26,719 (unqualified) £29,555 (qualified level 3 diploma residential childcare) plus £60 per sleep in shift.
Location:
Kirklington, Newark
Full time contracts - 40 hours per week
Part time contracts available
Applications from unqualified care workers with transferable skills are welcome as we will fund your level 3 diploma. £1,000 bonus is paid upon successful completion of qualification along with £500 golden hello bonus will be paid on successful completion of probation.

Role Overview:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in our dedicated team, providing essential support to both residents and fellow staff members.
Your responsibilities will be aimed at creating a nurturing environment where every child and young person feels valued and supported.
Your contribution will be instrumental in helping our residents overcome challenges and thrive in their new home.Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a warm and inclusive home environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of each resident.
- Provide individualised care and support to residents, especially those facing learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, social, or physical disabilities.
- Facilitate access to tailored support programs, adapting activities and utilising appropriate resources.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere within the home.
- Work closely with colleagues, external specialists, and families to create personalised care plans for each resident.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, contributing to the home's inclusive and supportive ethos.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a caregiving or support role with children and young people is essential
- Possessing a Level 2 or Level 3 in Children's and Young People's Workforce is desirable.
- A background in social work, psychology, special education, or a related field is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with diverse needs.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and strategies for inclusive care is a plus.
- Must be able to work on a rota and work sleep in shifts
