The Programme Purchaser will perform and contribute to the Integrated Programme Team(s) as assigned and will effectively drive the planning, tracking and coordination of the Purchased material requirements on behalf of the Programme Purchasing Team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties;

  • Drive the planning, tracking, coordination and reporting of the purchased material requirements for development, confidence test, PDR, CDR, certification test articles and up to SS0 within the constraints of a programme schedule.
  • Ensure that all contributing documentary evidence for the NPI material requirements are delivered at each PROMPT Tollgate milestone.
  • Report material costs vs budget targets and identify potential cost avoidance.
  • Processing of ECR's and subsequent permits / concessions.
  • Raise and acquire approval for purchase requisitions and Sales Orders to drive long leadtime material demand where necessary.
  • Track and resolve material issues, organize transport / airfreight where required.
  • Create plans to track and report on drawing release to support Supply Chain needs.
  • Manage programme inventory including initiating and diligently executing material disposition.
  • Hand over each programme to the Operational Production Control & Purchasing Teams once ready for launch.

Job requirements:

Able to demonstrate technical understanding and enthusiasm to deliver into the programme.

Proven delivery of procurement strategies.

Project / Programme management experience.

Management of cross-functional teams.

To effectively use MRP & Baan to support the introduction of new products into a Programme.

Ensuring attainment of the objective cost of the Purchased part by referring to all stakeholders in the Purchasing Department.

Excellent oral & written communication skills.

Able to develop & maintain effective working relationships within the PPT & IPT structure.

Able to organise, prioritise and influence.

Self-reliant, hardworking, proactive & self-motivated.
