The opportunityProject: The central procurement and supply chain management function for Mace Construct is based at our global head office in London with the opportunity to work flexibly. As part of our 'Redefine' plans Mace will be exploring the supply chain market to ensure we remain agile as we drive innovation through all our construction projects and secure a sustainable supply chain that will span our organisation.This is a fantastic opportunity to join an existing team that have developed relationships with key stakeholders to understand the needs of their business including a growing self-delivery offering. Mace is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic procurement professional who will constantly look for ways to improve service delivery to our clients with a keen eye on innovation, low carbon solutions, off-site manufacturing and efficiencies that deliver quality, value and safety across all our projects.Your responsibilities will include:Developing key practices and process to enable an effective/profitable business. Ensuring goods/materials are purchased in line with business unit operational needs in regard to price certainty, quality, delivery and sustainability.Directing supply chain due diligence, mapping, and development to support the delivery of the overall project procurement strategy of the business units.Supervising the procurement activity and supply chain engagement for business units to match procurement outcomes to top-line strategy.Negotiating and managing frameworks (commercial and contract management).Managing the end-to-end process of materials in/out (including lead times, stock levels) to ensure effective material demand planning and forecasting alongside day-to-day supply chain management and factory engagement. Working with projects and suppliers to reduce on-site storage including phased delivery with improved accurate lead times.Developing and managing faulty/late product processes.Supporting development and management of component catalogues, managing the constant flux of material pricing and develop an understanding of low-cost country sourcing opportunities.About youYou are a procurement professional with experience in package, manufacturing and material/project buying. You have a background in house building would be advantageous but is not essential, you would support strategy, supply chain research and reviews along with process development.You have been involved in the procurement process associated with the purchasing of components, materials and sub-assemblies associated with a manufacturing/offsite construction methodology.You are IT literate with standard Microsoft desktop tools, and aware of e-Procurement principles and tools. You have experience in managing risk effectively and an understanding of how to improve profit. You have a good understanding of contract types and how to compile contract documentation.This role would be well suited to an individual who takes ownership to complete tasks, delivers on commitments, and see things through and looks for new ways of doing things to achieve objectives. Somebody who acts inclusively and treats everyone as a customer including an internal colleague. Seeking opportunities to learn and share knowledge through collaboration and demonstrates an enthusiasm for working with others and building professional relationships.
