Job DescriptionWe are a well established UK-wide vehicle logistics and fleet management company looking for a Lead Vehicle Technician to join our site in Quedgeley, Gloucester. In this role, you will be confident in managing work process controls, ensuring that Inspections, warranty repairs and service/mechanical repairs run smoothly through the Workshop in order to meet KPI's and maximise efficiency. You will be fully supported by our Workshop Controller on a day to day basis. This role will see you supporting the Workshop Technicians on a daily basis in a productive capacity carrying out your own repairs, services and inspections with the responsibility of maintaining the progress of all jobs. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician and hold a relevant qualification i.e. City and Guilds level 3. Experience in managing work progress is desirable but not essential, but you will need to be motivational, have good planning and organisational skills, aware of organisational costs and communicate effectively. Salary Competitive Benefits to joining SMH: * Competitive Salary * 23 days holiday + bank holidays * Pension after 3 months * Free onsite parking * Employee discount schemes * Access to preferential rates on vehicle leasing * Annual leave purchase scheme (with qualifying period) * Cycle to Work scheme (with qualifying period) * Tech Benefits (with qualifying period) * Regular reviews, training and 121's to help develop and build your skills So a typical day may involve: * Control the daily workflow requirements in line with the targets set, quality standards required and Customer SLA's / KPI's * Utilise internal systems and procedures to a proficient standard to include * Promote and maintain effective communications with different teams to ensure that all workflow is seamlessly maintained * Specifically liaise with the Parts Controller to ensure that all parts ordered are proactively allocated to the relevant job or promptly returned to the Parts Dept. for credit * Escalate any delays with work progress or staff issues to your Line Manager * Report any sub-standard work identified to your Line Manager * Ensure that Manufacturer's Warranty Procedures are adhered to and processed effectively * Support the training and development of Operative and Apprentice Technicians * Competent use of diagnostic equipment to perform diagnostic testing and identify faults * Ability to draw upon past experience to troubleshoot current issues * Conduct servicing and repairs to many different types of vehicles We are interested in hearing from you if: * Knowledge of all types of vehicles * Relevant qualification and/or a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role * Excellent communication skills * Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning by participating in on-going training and any other industry related training requirements * Able to meet targets and deadlines * Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment * Be able to work as part of a team * Comply with Health and Safety requirements and legislation * Maintain a positive working relationship with all members of staff INDHP
