About the facility HCA Healthcare UK – The World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.Rated as 'outstanding' by the CQC, the London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City and Canary WharfWith 160 beds, 22 ICU beds and 10 operating theatres we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care and have use of the latest technologies and healthcare innovations.About the role As the Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist at London Bridge Hospital, your role will act as an advisor to colleagues within the wards, ensuing they are aware of procedures, guidelines, changes and developments in wound care.This key role provides specialist, holistic patient centred care and harm reducing clinical and management solutions to achieve pressure ulcer avoidance, optimal wound healing and preservation of tissue health.Duties and responsibilities Deliver teaching and presentations to all registered nurses at London Bridge Hosital on wound care prevention and management of pressure ulcersProvide advice and support to clinical staff and patients with complex tissue viability needs, while monitoring infection control and Health and SafetyDeliver and promote evidence based practice pressure ulcer assessment and wound managementEnsure pressure ulcer Prevention, assessment and management, while advising and assessing slow healing woundsMonitor staff in order to ensure that appropriate support is being provided to patients at all timesLeads on MDT discussions with regard to complex patient careSkills and experience Registered Nurse Level 1 with experience of working within Wound Management is essentialPostgraduate qualification relevant to the role and willingness to undertake further studies is highly desirableA strong understanding of Infection Control and Health and SafetyGood verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with consultants, junior nurses and patientsExperiencing of mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
