Rate of Pay: £8.72 per hour. Pen Picture of the Person Requiring Assistance: I am a gentleman in my 60s living in the Bryncoch area with my wife and 2 dogs. I have diabetes which has affected my mobility and dexterity, I also have occasional memory problems and can get a little confused from time to time. I enjoy rugby, caravanning and photography. I also used to be a keen reader and liked to go for a drive. I also enjoy gardening but struggle to do this nowadays. I’m looking for a PA to help me get out a bit more, perhaps to go for a drive, sit in the garden or to play dominos. I am a little bit isolated and would like to spend some time socialising with new people so my wife can have a little bit of respite. Tasks Include:• Spending time with me at home• Supporting me to do activities I enjoy• Socialising with me and keeping me company• Any other reasonable dutiesPersonal Qualities and Attributes required:A person who:• Is friendly, trustworthy and easy going• Someone who can be flexible• Someone who can work professionally in a family home• Someone supportive who will encourage me to do things I enjoy• Someone with a positive attitude towards disability• Car driver with access to a vehicle is essential Additional Information:This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement. If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement. You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences. You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
