39 hours a week with various shift patterns available, your preferance can be discussed at interview.

Days: 6am to 2pm

Backs: 2pm to 10pm

Nights: 10pm to 6am

These positions are temporary for 3 months initially.

Pay Rates

£9.16 per hour rising to £9.61 after training

About the role

This role is crucial in making sure our shops get all of the items they have ordered so that they can give our loyal Greggs customers a great customer service.

This is a physically demanding role as the manual handling of boxes, picking and packing of cages and the pushing and pulling of cages are also an integral part of the role. Working as part of a great team, you’ll have a good eye for detail to ensure full pick accuracy. You’ll ensure our trucks are at the right temperature ready to load, and products are loaded into the correct compartment for chill, ambient or frozen.

Reporting to the Operational Team Leaders, you will be an enthusiastic, reliable individual who is able to work alone as well as in a team and take pride in your work. Initiative, problem solving and attention to detail are critical in the success of this role.

Hours of work may be unsociable and shift patterns vary, so flexibility is essential.

Key requirements and responsibilities

  • Comfortable with long periods of standing, lifting and carrying.
  • Ability to work in ambient, chilled and frozen sections of the warehouse.
  • Accurate picking of required goods to prepare loads in accordance with delivery requirements.
  • Ensure areas are tidy and clear of rubbish on an on-going basis.
  • Combine loads from ambient, chilled and frozen sections of the warehouse for loading.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards at all times.
  • Assist in all areas of the warehouse, from loading to replenishment.
  • Be numerate and literate with the ability to maintain and complete records
  • Be self-motivated and flexible with working hours
  • Have a good attendance, time keeping and disciplinary record
  • Demonstrate using the Company values
  • Ideally have previous food handling experience in a warehouse environment
  • Experience of working with SAP an advantage
  • A Fork Lift Truck license would be beneficial but is not compulsory, although the expectation would be to train up and must be prepared for this in order to be considered for the role.
