For our Nordson DAGE facility in Colchester we are looking for a C++ Developer.


While working as a C++ Developer you will be involved in developing and supporting software used to run the Nordson DAGE X-ray Inspection Systems. You will work on software which controls the X-ray tube while catching the images, controls the motion control of the X-ray in the system and you will support the automated testing done by operators.


  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in robotics, software or a related engineering discipline; Or having work experience with C++ in different industry;
  • C++ Development preferably on Windows platform.
  • Multi-threaded software design
  • Appreciation of control systems.
  • Software design and architecture experience.


  • C++ programming skills.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Team player.
  • Communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
  • Proactive approach to problem resolution.
  • A high degree of flexibility in a continuously changing environment.
  • Desirable:

  • C#/C++ development in a multithreaded environment.
  • Visual Studio 2015 or later IDE.
  • Software development on 64-bit Windows 10 platforms.
  • Qt GUI tools
  • Use of appropriate source code management and issue tracking tools.
  • Image processing experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.

    Regular travel between Aylesbury & Colchester dependent upon business needs. Occasional international travel.
