Head of Networks Key Responsibilities Lead an Engineering team including the end-to-end ownership of Airband's IP Network including Internet Edge, Core, Distribution and Access and end user devices allowing for scale and resilience. Delivery of the long-term Strategy of Airband's Network / Datacentres including backhaul via leased or owned infrastructure. Day to Day Operations of Airband's Network, ensuring a World Class service for Airband's customers which will include an element of being on call for any critical or service impacting issues. Be the ultimate Design Authority of Airband's IP infrastructure. Define and manage the data centre infrastructure to provide the platform, service, and availability to allow the Airband systems to deliver all the Customer products and services. Design Lead / Authority of all Network Infrastructure including Airband's ASN. Technically evaluate solutions and technology to support network modernisation and growth. Build, deploy, maintain, configure, support, troubleshoot and restore the data centre network across VMWare, virtual network and elements including SAN, upgrades and back up. Working closely with project and operational support teams, they will find solutions to improve service delivery and customer Quality of Experience. They will also help develop standard operating procedures and proof of concept creation, and work with sales and marketing teams to effect opportunities. Ensure suitable and appropriate security of Airband's Network. Requirements The delivery of a World Class IP network taking into considerations business and operational requirements. Manage changes to the Data Centre infrastructure and hand over to the Business Systems team. Essential Previous leadership (Manager or Team Lead) Service Provider experience working within a public or private network service provider or operator, ideally previously responsible for the design and implementation of an ASN CCNP Service Provider or equivalent CCDA or equivalent experience Experience of designing and scaling networks to meet fast growth and volume whilst maintaining resilience and quality. Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. A solutions finder, translating business need into a deliverable solution. Network security experience Commercial acumen, dealing with suppliers and partners including the business cases required to drive forward the overall Network strategy and ultimate delivery of Airband's network. Desirable Data centre experience CCDP Optical Transport Networks (Point to Point and Point to Multipoint) Radio Technology (Point to Point and Point to Multipoint) Typical Department Relationships Business Development – Building workable solutions for smaller-scale projects. Project Teams – Completing logical designs for regional and ultimately a national network. Marketing – Finding solutions to address revenue barriers. Business Systems – Delivery and support of the Datacentre infrastructure.
