Role is Monday to Friday but flexibility in hours may be required during the week and occasionally on weekends in order to fulfil the roleWe need you now, they need you always...Westgate Healthcare are recruiting for an experienced and proactive Business Administrator to join our team on a full time, permanent basis, based at our luxury, new build Care Home in Wanstead (opening Summer 2021).The successful candidate will work alongside the Home Manager to set up and commission the care home, and will be responsible for ensuring that the administration of the Home runs smoothly and effectively. This role will have a strong focus on recruitment and systems management, so experience in these areas in a fast-paced setting is required.The ideal candidate should have strong communication and IT skills, have excellent attention to detail, be organised, flexible and have a can-do, positive attitude.Candidates should be aware that this role involves working in an office in the Care Home so there will be daily communication with all staff and elderly residents. Successful candidates will therefore be required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Previous experience in the care industry is useful, though not essential.This position will be based in Wanstead, but will initially require travel to our head office in Borehamwood, and to our homes in Herts, Bucks, Essex and London. For this reason, a car driver is essential to be considered. Due to the nature of the role, some flexibility in hours will be required whilst commissioning the Home and candidates should be prepared to offer this during the week, and occasionally on weekends.WHAT’S ON OFFER:• Holidays: 22 days per year plus bank holidays• Free parking• Workplace pension scheme• 'Refer a Friend’ scheme with financial rewards• Great benefits package; including long service awards and access to a wide range of offers and discounts from hundreds of high street and online storesDUTIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO): • Set up systems and processes to ensure the smooth running of the business side of the Care Home• Lead on all aspects of recruitment within the Home, including coordinating open days, advertising, arranging interviews and pre-employment checks• Prepare and maintain all starter and leaver paperwork, including references and DBS checks, induction and training documentation• Set up and maintain an efficient and tidy filing system for all Home related paperwork as well as staff personnel files and computerised/database systems• Assist the Home Manager to ensure all necessary records are maintained and are up to date, ensuring there is an audit trail• Manage the finance administration in the home, including processing payroll, and handling invoices and petty cash• Provide secretarial support to the Home by typing all correspondence, minutes, memos and other documentation, answering letters and arranging appointments on behalf of the Home ManagerESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:• Right to live and work in the UK• Have experience and knowledge of office administration and procedures, and ideally including Recruitment and/or HR administration within an office environment• Experience of working in a care home environment is preferable but not essential• Sound numeracy and literacy skills• Be organised and confident in maintaining filing systems• Be discreet and work in accordance with the Data Protection Act• Be educated up to at least GCSE level or equivalent• Have experience of working with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel• Have experience of working within a teamCome and make a difference with the team at Westgate Healthcare! #CareWithUsAtWestgate
