Our client based in Shiremoor has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join their Financial Transaction department. Here you will be responsible for driving the performance of the Project Controls & GL Transactions team, ensuring all financial transactions are processed in an efficient manner and in line with the quality and timescales set by the Distribution Financial controller.This is a temporary position for 6 months, paying between £17.33 and £19.73 per hour depending on experience.The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who has previous experience of managing people, performance and change, along with strong leadership skills to ensure targets are achieved. Proficient IT skills are essential, including the use of Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel.Key Responsibilities:Reviewing and approval of journals in line with our policiesManaging the production of the reconciliations to a high level of accuracyManagement of all financial controls, including the production of management information to support this, ensuring they are produced to an agreed standard.Drive the performance of the team, holding staff to account to meet targets and goals.Manage resource, including setting staff work priorities, monitoring absence and sickness performance and the effective recruitment of new resource.Development & mentoring of staff, setting clear concise goals and standards for staff and carrying out performance reviews leading to individual staff development plansYou will work 37 hours per week, between the hours of 8am and 5pmThe company offer free onsite parking and have good public transport links.
