Job Title: Manufacturing Manager - NightshiftLocation: East Kilbride, ScotlandShift Patterm: Pitman Shift (Two week rotating shift pattern; Week 1: Monday, Tueday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday), Working 18:30-06:30 Job PurposeTo lead the operations team on nightshift to effectively deliver an operationally excellent and efficient performance in line with site business requirements. Role Key Accountabilities To manage, develop and lead the operations management team through all aspects of operations, competence and developmentTo ensure the unit complies with company and legal standards (safety, quality, hygiene, environment, security)Ensure that the customer is in the forefront of everything we produce from quality and safety of the product to servicing on time and in fullDelivers the Operational strategy and plan and uses their team to ensure continuous improvement activity is in place to drive year on year improvements across operations. To be a key go to person on nightshift for all departments on site and provide direction to production, warehouse and hygiene functions.Full deputy duty holder status for site Operations including Lead Incident control2IC to Operations Manager during holidays or where required People: Demonstrate visible leadership for the operations teams, creating an empowering culture to build a high performing teamEngage staff on shopfloor to listen, empower and translate Operational strategy to all staffAbility to communicate and lead a compelling and inspired vision for the teams in line with the site Operations vision and strategyWork cross functionally with the Operation, H&S, Technical and Engineering Teams to ensure a culture of continuous improvement becomes commonplaceRegularly review working practises, developing a personal knowledge of the Company’s product range and production issues in order to facilitate more flexible working and labour optimisation, including new shift patterns and scheduling as well as understanding and ownership of the Operational issuesFull competency and capability development of FLMs and Area Manager to future Manufacturing Managers through PDP’s, PDR’s and training. Functional / Operational Excellence: Ensure total area compliance and lead product quality with all applicable corporate and legal standards (personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene, environment and security)Delivery of the KPIs to achieve the site business plan (safety, quality, service, cost, people and projects) ensuring accurate performance reporting across the areaCommitment to continuous improvement across the area to make year on year improvements versus plans and targets. No status quo exists and each metric within Safety, Quality, Service, People and Costs is not only maintained, but continuously improved Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential: Experienced in managing people. Exposure to continuous and batch process FMCG environment. Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the manufacturing processes.Numerate with ability to understand how to make improvements which influence company profitability.Understanding of P&L to gross margin level. Educated to at least HND or equivalent in a Business subject.Experience of an ERP driven process Desirable: Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Business or Production/Manufacturing/Engineering subject. Previous experience of the cake or confectionary processing/manufacturing industry in a senior site of area lead capacity
