The NHS Long Term Plan has a strong focus on the prevention of illness through the widespread adoption of improved health behaviours in patients. This will both help individuals enjoy their lives, whilst at the same time reducing or delaying the demand for treatment and care.The Prevention programme is taking forward the specific ambitions and deliverables set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, whilst supporting the NHS to drive a consistent focus on prevention across all its services. The programme is operating with a core national team with embedded resources in regions to support achievement of prevention deliverables within the Long Term Plan at a system level.NHS England, East of England Region is looking to recruit a Regional Prevention Programme Manager. In this role, you will work closely with Public Health England and local government partners in the East of England region in delivering the NHS Long Term Plan commitments on Prevention for Tobacco, Alcohol and Obesity. You will be responsible for coordinating the local delivery arm of the Prevention Programme in each Integrated Care System in the region. You will work as an embedded resource in the East of England region to ensure that the programme is progressing at pace in line with the ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan.Reporting to the Delivery Director for Equality & Health Inequalities and Intensive Support, you will work with the Regional Director of Public Health to set and manage the regional Prevention Programme strategy. You will provide support to the Prevention Early Implementer Sites as they establish services to support sharing of learning across the region. You will also support the development of optimal links to community and local government authority services. You will work closely with regional and local Public Health and Local Government Authority colleagues.This is a challenging role where you will be expected to lead and deliver work, creating pace and momentum. The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise across a number of key areas relating to prevention, primary and secondary care, transformation and public health.The candidate will champion joint working at system level and have a clear understanding of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments on Prevention for Tobacco, Alcohol and Obesity.We may close the vacancy earlier if we receive sufficient number of applicants.
