Currently we are modernising our Software Development tooling to support our growing Maritime business and we are seeking someone who is going to challenge our current ways of working to ensure we work smarter. You will be instrumental in implementing new tools, driving innovation and ensuring we minimise technical debt. Your primary role will be to support the Software development teams at our Cheadle site which involves tool administration, creation of build pipelines and helping projects to move over to our new network.The right candidate will have a good understanding of DevOps practises and modern Software Development methodologies. We are also adopting more agile ways of working so a sound understanding of Agile methodologies is desirable.The tools and technology we use:Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket.Puppet.Artifactory.VMWare, VSphere.Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.Sonarqube, Klocwork.Key duties:Creation and maintenance of project build pipelines, nodes and Software quality tools.Administration of Software tooling.Setup and configuration of VLabs.Provide ad-hoc support to the Software department.Encourage innovation of ideas as common practise encouraging new technology and techniques.Skills and ExperienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrable experience in a dev ops role.Demonstrable problem solving skills and experience driving innovation.A sound understanding of Software development lifecyclesExperience in Configuration Management and Change Control would be beneficial.Experience in Docker and Kubernetes would make you stand out!In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
