The team leads the delivery of theNHS Long Term Plan ambitions for canceracross Thames Valley, ensuring variation in outcomes is addressed and that improvements are made across whole pathways from prevention and diagnosis through to treatment and support for people living with cancer; as well as, provide oversight and coordination to supportdelivery of the constitutional waiting times standardsfor cancer. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in supporting and enabling transformation across Thames Valley.This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team responsible for cancer diagnostic services across Thames Valley. The Thames Valley Cancer Alliance (TVCA) is a partnership that brings together leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social organisation and covers a population of approx. 2.4 million people. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis and treatment and care outcomes for cancer patients in Thames Valley.We are looking to a recruit a Rapid Diagnostic Service (RDS) Programme Support and Assurance Administrator with a can-do attitude, to work as part of a dynamic team in supporting effective Cancer Alliance activity across Thames Valley. The programmes aim is to provide a single point of access approach for patients with symptoms that could indicate cancer. The RDS model is designed to diagnose cancer quicker, improve patient experience, enable Providers to achieve the Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) and will support the diagnosis of non-cancer conditions more efficiently. Together with clinical and managerial members of the Alliance support team, the successful post holder will ensure our activities support providers and commissioners with their core purpose of quality improvement and ultimately to benefit patient and population health outcomes. You will develop excellent relationships with clinical and administrative leadership and multi-disciplinary teams across the region to enable delivery of programmes of work that improve diagnostic services. In particular the post holder will support in maintaining governance and programme processes and play a key role in planning, risk and issue management. Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices is highly desirable.The post holder will be required to provide comprehensive administrative support to the team to ensure the smooth running of the programme as well as the wider improvement programme across TVCA. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and analytical skills, be competent in data entry, possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Powerpoint, excellent attention to detail, and be a good team player. They should be able to work unsupervised, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing/challenging situations.
