IT Field Support EngineerAn exciting position has become available for a full time IT Field Support Engineer to join a friendly team based in Ferndown, Dorset. The successful candidate will earn up to £26,000 per annum, dependant on experience and vendor certification levels aligned to the role requirements.The Field Support Engineer is a varied and challenging role, both office and site visit based.You must be a positive, friendly, and sociable team player with a passion for IT and a “can do” attitude.Typically, candidates will have 1+ years’ experience in an MSP environment (or similar) and will understand the importance of exceptional customer service to accompany technical skill. Training and continual professional development will be provided to help you in this new role and enhance your technical skills.Role Requirements The candidate must be able to driveAn Enhanced DBS check of the successful candidate will be undertaken, and it is a requirement of the post that a clean DBS check be maintained1+ years’ experience of working in an IT related environmentMicrosoft Windows Server administration – Hyper-V, AD, MDT/WDS, NTFS and GPMCMicrosoft 365 – Exchange Admin Centre administration and supporting desktop applicationsExperience of installing and supporting modern desktop environments (Windows/macOS)Good understanding of computer and server components and BIOS configurationsGood understanding of TCP/IP networks and infrastructure – LAN’s, Wi-Fi, switches/VLAN’s Ability to accurately set expectations and ensure they are deliveredTaking ownership of tasks to ensure issues have been resolvedLogical approach to problem solvingPolite, confident, and effective communicatorSincere passion for exceptional customer serviceExcellent time management and priority determination skillsMaintain a high standard of work and professionalismAbility to work unsupervised and diligentlyPersonal determination to increase knowledge and competenciesTeam player – ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals Role Responsibilities The candidate will work based from our Ferndown office, with regular visits to local customer sites and occasionally other locations.Providing on-site technical support to our customersProviding telephone and email based technical support to our customersTroubleshooting and mitigating incidents flagged by our monitoring systemsPerforming various system administration tasks to support IT project deliveryHelping maintain a mutually beneficial and positive working relationship with customersAssisting other teams with their tasks and development work when requestedCommercial awareness of the benefits of common business technologies is expected – knowing how to spot opportunities and pass them to account management for handling Company + BenefitsOur client is a substantial Cloud and Managed Service Provider supplying technical services.
