The current climate means this is more important than ever; supporting families to keep them well, to provide care to keep them out of hospital or allowing them to return home from hospital at the earliest opportunity through our support and care.Brent has a multi- cultural community, providing the opportunity to work with a diverse population. The Brent 0-19 Service operates across the local wards of Brent. As a Health Visitor, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and effective delivery of service and leadership with the implementation of the Healthy Child Programme within the School Health Service and 0-5’s Core Programme.You will be of support for members of the team and deliver services in line with the Healthy Child programme under the supervision of the Health Visitor.We work very closely with our partner agencies to enrich the mix of skills available and strengthen our position as a service provider. Working within the team are Health Visitors, School Health Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses and School Nurse Assistants.You need to have a passion for working with children, young people and families and have a comprehensive understanding of the Public Health Agenda in Brent. It is essential that you also have a thorough knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme (0-19), Central London Community Healthcare Values. It is essential applicants can meet the travel requirements of the post.You will be: NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/CACHE or a Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice (OU) or a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Early Years to join our Health Visiting team.Experience should include working with children and families in a variety of settingsMust have an excellent knowledge of child development and ideally have some experience of working with children who have additional needs.The role will involve delivering key aspects of the Healthy Child Programme as part of a Health Visiting team.These aspects will include supporting families with infant feeding, child development and child health clinics, both in group settings and on an individual basis.Computer skills are essential, as is a positive attitude to change.You will have good communication skills, be a team player and be well organised in order to work effectively, in partnership with colleagues in.
