As the Corporate Operations Engineer within the IT Support Technician team, your mission is to enable the people and technology that keep Google running. Your team provides the front line user support for all of our internal tools and technologies. Beyond the day-to-day, the team will contribute to longer-term technical projects, process improvement and the documentation efforts that help make the Google magic happen.As part of the Corporate Operations Internet-of-Things (IoT) Service team, you'll help us drive our mission to offer a platform for building controls systems and IoT devices to operate on Google Infrastructure. This team is responsible for ensuring smooth implementation and running of building controls and IoT systems on Google Infrastructure for both new construction projects and lifecycle management of the existing fleet. As an IT Solutions Engineer, you will find solutions to technical challenges through working with users and collaborating with partner teams. You'll combining your experience of IT technologies to implement building controls and IoT solutions on Google infrastructure, including design, implementation and troubleshooting and solving any escalated production needs. Responsibilities Design, build, and test technical solutions in relation to building controls and IoT domain (e.g. lighting, security, HVAC).Partner with the deployment team to implement across both new builds and retrofits, whilst developing relationships with internal technology partners.Define and implement for Smart ready building in relation to Google Cloud Platform, IoT Core, gateway, access control and data flow needs.Create, maintain and publish IT policies, standards, and procedures related to IoT deployment on Google infrastructure.Develop knowledge around IoT hardware manufacturers and how they integrate with Google infrastructure.Minimum qualifications:Experience in IT Operations; focusing on deployment and troubleshooting for including Windows, Linux, Networking, Scripting, Automation and Applications.Experience in the deployment of servers, workstations, wireless devices, access control, software and patches. Experience in customer service.Experience in working within Commercial IoT technologies.Preferred qualifications:Experience with complex IT infrastructure and ability to troubleshoot issues.Experience in enterprise networking.Experience creating scripts to automate common tasks.Experience providing infrastructure solutions for internal customers.Understanding of IT change management best practices.
