Customer Service EngineerProviding high level support, resolving incidents and technical escalation.HAYS IT are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity, joining a wonderful organisation based in Stockton on Tees. This is a permanent role, with a competitive salary paying between £25,000 - £27,000 which has arisen due to a huge period of growth, which is showing no signs of slowing down. Providing an excellent benefits package, working within a supportive and collaborative team, this is the ideal position for an experienced Customer Service Engineer seeking their next challenge and looking to bring their own personality to the challenge. Key skills required: Minimum HNC or equivalent in IT, Computer Science or similar discipline / proven equivalent working experience Current relevant accreditation in servers/desktop and Microsoft MCP or be able to demonstrate the equivalent skills Full UK driving licence Ability to troubleshoot hardware faults in a network and server environment An enthusiastic, driven, committed and flexible approach to work Solutions driven, confident and friendly approach in dealing with customers Natural initiative and pro-activeness to their method of working Be open to new ideas and have a positive outlook Demonstrate value of and delivery of high-quality customer care with their approach to communication Excellent standard of written and spoken English Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative High degree of commercial acumen High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work well to deadlines and under pressure Ability to think logically A good memory of how software and operating systems work Good problem-solving skills Keen interest in, and passionate about IT Duties within the role: To resolve incidents and problems both directly from customers and through technical escalation To conduct fault diagnosis and repair of client PC, service and network hardware including servers, tape drives, desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, routers, switches and firewalls To implement fixes and solutions where appropriate either via discussing directly with customer, via email, via remote control or onsite To complete daily onsite engineering and network administration tasks as part of he managed service contracts and post installation handover and support To conduct in house workshop repair of PCs, servers and printers To work with suppliers and vendors warranties requests To upgrade hardware components and firmware To adhere to contract specific Service Level Agreements To perform all duties in a positive and professional manner and assist in the promotion of a productive team environment To use existing skills and knowledge as well as appropriate support resources to identify resolutions to customer incidents Additional Responsibilities: Flexibility is required of all job holders to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by their Line Manager/Divisional Director All roles will be required to handle confidential information and/or sensitive data in a professional manner and in line with existing Company and customer processes and policies The content and reporting lines detailed in this job description may be reviewed and changed from time to time to reflect organisational requirements This list is not exhaustive but provides an indicator of likely tasks and responsibilities For a confidential discussion around the role, please do not hesitate to contact me
