An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking to join our ARCCS team. Our teams of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Assistants are based within a large acute Trust which has close links with local Tertiary Education Providers. This post will provide successful applicants opportunities to develop Management and Leadership skills as well as the potential to engage in higher education and training. The post holder needs to be driven to provide high quality care, working closely with other professions to ensure excellent patient outcomes.This post offers the following opportunities: Cross-cover with the other Occupational Therapists in the team into respiratory and critical care areas.Joint working with Physiotherapists.Wide and varied caseload.Surgical caseload includes Upper and Lower GI surgery, vascular (including amputees).Respiratory work includes a variety of diagnosis e.g. COPD, bronchiectasis, NIV patients and tracheostomy.6 critical areas are covered across site and cross site working is necessary. Non-clinical duties includes: Deputising in the absence of more senior leadershipReview current practices, innovate and influence changes in service provision with support and training.Mentor and supervise less experienced/ qualified staff including students on placement.Play a key role in maintaining good working relationship with our local Tertiary Education Providers.Maintenance of staff competencies, education and CPD will be part of your role. Essential criteria for the post are: Degree/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy with H.C.P.C. RegistrationExperience with complex patients at band 6 level or above, within the field of surgery and/ or vascular.Ability to work on-call and weekend servicesEvidence of relevant and up-to-date CPD Desirable skills includes: Excellent communication skills.Ability to work well within a team.Ability to work under pressureGood networking skills and familiarity with current legislations and other relevant factors affecting change in the NHS.
