Job Description

Mitie has a fantastic opportunity in Ballynahinch, Co Down as we are looking for an experienced Corporate Security Officer to join the core team on site at a prestigious Air Defence contract. Your shift pattern will be discussed the interview, with a pay rate of £8.91 per hour. You will report into the Site Supervisor. Shift work based on four day shifts / four off / four night shifts / four off.

Main Duties

  • The security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers – ensuring ID badges issued, allocated and collected when appropriate.
  • As the first point of contact for to all customers and clients, the Security Officers must have geographically awareness of their local surroundings.
  • Must be able to man the phones, CCTV and Alarm Systems, Doors and Car park if need be.
  • The security officer must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.
  • Report to the Site Supervisor – they must record, report and escalate all sightings and suspicious activity on a regular basis.

  • The successful applicant will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • The successful applicant should be able to work on their own initiative.
  • A flexible approach to work to suit and support the business needs is required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to go above and beyond to support the client, visitors and colleagues alike
  • Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
  • It is important the successful applicant is calm under pressure.
  • Full working knowledge of computer packages such as MS Word / MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Door Supervision or Security Guarding License essential.
  • Drivers licence and own transport are essential as public transport does not facilitate the location.
  • Current in date 'SC clearance' desirable but not essential
