Description:Principal Resourcing are currently recruiting for several Support Workers to work with a residential setting in Doncaster. As a member of our Support Worker Team, you will be passionate about making a difference to someone’s life. Your primary purpose will be to support individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs to live meaningful, happy lives. You will empower people to identify their goals, pursue their interests and hobbies, support their health and wellbeing, and be a part of their local community. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, empathetic and resilient Support Worker, deeply committed to assisting people with additional needs who can present challenging behaviour. You’re compassionate, observant, and confident in handling potentially difficult situations. You’re able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and confident in providing feedback to management if additional needs are required. Our client has various working shifts available which will include working in the community and within the client’s home, with night, evening and weekend shifts. Essential: Experience providing support to a disabled person. In particular experience with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour would be an advantage but other relevant experience will be considered MAPA Trained or Equivalent Qualification Hold at least 6 months previous experience in Personal Care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and show initiative when required Willingness to encourage and take part in activities with the client Reliable and trustworthy, patient and take a non-judgemental approach Able to understand and maintain confidentiality Willingness to learn the tasks of the role Commitment to equal opportunities for disabled people in attitude and in carrying out the tasks of the job.
