Vision ScreenerBand 3Salary range - £19,737 - £21,142 per annum pro rataTerm Time Only - 30hrs per weekWe are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Vision Screener to join the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme team across Cambridgeshire. You will be joining a proactive skill mix team working to provide a seamless service to children, young people and their families delivering the Healthy Child Programme in line with Cambridgeshire Community Service NHS Trust commissioned service. The role will involve liaising with schools to plan vision screening sessions for reception pupils, undertaking the screening and collating and recording results. Experience of screening is not necessary as full training will be given. However excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential along with experience of working as part of a team and on your own initiative. We provide an induction programme along with appropriate training and development opportunities to extend your knowledge and skills to deliver the vision screening programme.Screening for vision defects is part of the healthy child programme; the aim of screening is early identification for children with amblyopia (lazy eye). By undertaking the screening in the reception year, treatment where identified as necessary, has the potential to improve vison.
