We believe Linden House Children’s Home is a very special home for children and young people where daily living experiences and activities are meaningful and memorable and are designed to meet the needs of individual children in areas that are personal to them. Set in a semi-rural location within four acres of beautifully mature grounds. Linden House accommodates children and young people with a primary diagnosis of moderate to severe autism with moderate challenging behaviour and associated conditions such as ADHD and Tourette’s Syndrome. As a Residential Support Worker you will ensure that the children and young people in your care are safe, healthy and able to make a positive contribution, realising their full potential through enjoyment, achievement and economic well being. This is a 52 week post, working 37.5 hours per week. You will work in the residential setting but will also spend time in school supporting during the academic day. You must be prepared to work on a shift system including early, late and weekend shifts. What we'd like from you: Emotional resilience Flexibility, resourcefulness A strong 'can do' attitude Highly developed organisational skills Effective communication skills Previous experience in a special needs environment/school would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
