Description:East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is excited to be recruiting a Senior Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery for the continually expanding arterial tertiary service. Whilst the post is based at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, which are well-equipped modern hospitals with excellent facilities, the successful applicant will assist in providing a clinical service in Vascular Surgery to the population of East Lancashire and across Lancashire and South Cumbria. This will include supporting and undertaking outpatient clinics, operating lists, day case lists, ward rounds and being part of a non-resident on call rota covering exclusively vascular surgery (no general surgery emergency cover).The individual appointed to this post will join with the Trust’s highly motivated multidisciplinary team, led by 6 Consultant Vascular Surgeons, in addressing the challenging demands of the speciality. The post holder will be expected to work within a clinical governance framework, having an active role in clinical risk management, audit and the annual assessment process undertaken by the Clinical Director for Vascular Surgery. A Full Shift work pattern is in place worked by the surgical middle grades, which complies with the European Working Time Directive (EWTD).This post is for a fixed term of 4 months with the possibility of a further 12 months pending mutual agreement.
