IT Infrastructure Operations Manager

We have an opportunity for a strong minded individual,with personality and presence, to assume responsibility for management of ~10engineers providing 24/7 operations and operational support for a considerableinfrastructure spanning multiple countries in Europe. He/She will not be afraidto confront inefficiencies and/or conflicts and to implement change that willdrive positive end results to ensure company, team and personal success.

Based in Kent, European travel will be required,however tools are available to enable remote management, process/progressmonitoring and ultimately results.

Fluency in the English language is crucial, with otherlanguages a considerable plus.

Role and Responsibilities:

Proactively leading the European Shared Services teamas line manager of 8-12 Infrastructure engineers

Responsibility for provision of 24x7 operationssupport for critical infrastructure services across Europe

Driving key strategic goals in the areas ofautomation, infrastructure observability, process standardization and capacityplanning across a variety of Infrastructure systems and services

Partner with Support, Business and Application teamsto troubleshoot and remediate problems

Escalation point for regional Infrastructure leadsacross Europe

Directly and indirectly manage and verify contingencyplanning, disaster recovery back-up procedures

Assess/recommend ongoing improvement or re-engineeringIT services & technologies

Manage/optimise staff resourcing, hiring, training,& supervising IT staff

Develop people and talents. Ensure that there areadequate training opportunities to grow

Important: European travel required

To be successful in this role you will be able todemonstrate:

At least 5 years experience leading a team in chargeof a 24x7 oriented production environment across multiple data centres

Technical background with main focus on, and passionfor, leading and mentoring people

Strong interpersonal skills to lead the dailyactivities of a technical team including management, mentoring and coaching

Experience in dealing with different countries,cultures and the inherent difficulties in cross-border management

Experience supporting Cisco based networks (incl. MPLSand SD-WAN), VMware and telephony, contact centre and video conferencetechnologies

Ability to effectively communicate effectively tosenior management as well as end-users and suppliers/vendors

Ability to manage, mentor and coach a team

Good understanding of outsourcing and off/nearshoring, building win/win strategies and contracts with suppliers/vendors

Experience in project management and third party teammanagement

Experience in basic financial and assetadministration, backend controls and common tools such as ITIL, Helpdesk, MSOffice, MS Teams, etc.

Experience in crisis management with ability to managethe matrix
