About the Role: We are looking to recruit a Qualified Veterinary Nurse (VN) who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients. Working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care and carries out consults, admissions and discharges, our Veterinary Nurses are also involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment. Depending on the needs of the hospital we have Veterinary Nurses working both full and part time hours, with opportunities for career progression at PDSA for the right candidate. PDSA has served the local area for over 60 years offering first opinion veterinary treatment and preventive services.The hospital building is well equipped and has been recently refurbished to provide a new dispensary and more consulting space allowing us to meet the demands of this busy small practice. The caseload is very varied. We are a friendly welcoming team; CPD is encouraged and self development encouraged with the help of an experienced team of 4 vets, 3 RVNs and 3 VCAs. Although a small hospital, we pack a lot into a small space - 4 consulting rooms, theatre , prep area, radiography room with ultrasonography, separate dog and cat kennelling. We aim to promote a healthy life for all our pets by preventing, educating and treating sick and injured animals with passion and compassion. TOOH is fully outsourced ; clinical staff typically work 1 Saturday morning in 4 with time off in lieu the next week. Aberdeen has easy access to the beach and Cairngorms . There is an airport which links to major UK cities - and Europe. About You: The successful candidate will be a Qualified RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, expected to keep your professional knowledge updated by taking part in continuous professional development and will be committed to the vision and mission of PDSA.
