We are currently seeking to recruit the new Head of Theatres for one of the most important private hospitals in London. The Head of Theatres is responsible for the delivery of clinical and professional standards, maximizing utilization and overall performance, as well as ensuring the theatres department is well integrated with the wider hospital.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Head of Theatres is accountable for the delivery and performance management of a high quality theatre services, providing leadership, professional support and development to all nurses, theatre practitioners and support staff.
Responsible for the direct line management of the theatres management team, providing support, guidance and direction to achieve optimal effectiveness, clinical and financial outcomes.
To be a highly visible, proactive and accessible leader.
Play a lead role within the department for ensuring the governance structure and processes are in placeappropriate risk management and shared learning takes place and that assurances of quality are provided to the Nursing board as required.
Will have an overall strategic view of the theatres department, supporting a culture of continuous quality improvement, as well as working in partnership with the directorate management team to ensure divisional and clinic objectives are met in relation to workforce, service delivery, clinical quality, safety and financial control.
Skills & Experience:
NMC or HCPC registration.
Significant management/leadership experience at a senior theatres services level
A track record of continuous managerial, educational and professional development.
Experience of building effective relationships with consultants, and managers across multiple disciplines; hospital wide.
Demonstrable experience of improving theatres efficiency, performance and utilization.
Experience of leading people through significant change, as well as managing complex resource issues (human and financial).
Evidence of implementing a range of quality and clinical governance initiatives to develop practice, as well as managing innovation and service improvement.
