Do you speak French or German and are keen on a career in IT Project Management? Robert Half are currently recruiting for a Junior Project Manager with either French or German language skills to join a client in Melksham on a perm basis. The role will sit in a newly formed Project Management team of around 5. The client has briefs coming in from France and Germany and so they really need a linguist in the team that can help them understand the briefs and steer projects accordingly. Training will be provided to someone that is quite new to Project management but has the relevant transferable skills.

The role of Junior Project Manager:

  • Manage each project's scope and time line.
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups.
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks.
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
  • Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders)
  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that may occur.
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
  • Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to define requirements and manage project milestones.
  • Plan and prioritise product feature backlog and development for the product, including: Backlog management, iteration planning, and creation of the user stories.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.

    • Ideal key skills of the Junior Project Manager:

  • Fluent French or German language skills
  • Previous experience in a product owner/project manager role.
  • Familiarity with software development
  • Experience in a scrum master role
  • Knowledge of Scrum techniques and artefacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Managing project milestones, engaging with clients, stakeholders and the technical team.
  • Knowledge of Agile process and principles.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • The benefit to the Junior Project Manager:

    This Junior Project Manager role pays a salary of between £28,000-£33,000 per annum with additional benefits including holiday pay, pension contributions, flexible hours and flexibility around working from home a day a week. There is also significant on desk and professional training available to those candidates that need it.
